With nearly 20 years’ experience working in law, Richard Hardy is a Registered Migration Agent and the only accredited NSW Law Society Immigration Law Specialist, outside of Sydney.
Richard works principally in the areas of Australian immigration law and employment law.
Richard’s qualifications include Bachelor degrees in Social Work (University of NSW) and Law (University of Sydney), as well asa Diploma of Legal Practice (University of Technology Sydney). He is admitted to practice as a solicitor and barrister of the Supreme Court of NSW and the High Court of Australia. Richard is a Registered Migration Agent of the Office of the Migration Agents Registration Authority, (MARA Number 9473161).
He has been in continuous practice as a solicitor and as a Registered Migration Agent since 1994, firstly in Sydney before moving to Newcastle in 2001, where he is now the leading immigration law solicitor in the Hunter Region and a partner at Baker Love Lawyers.
In the area of immigration law, Richard’s acts in applications to the Department of Immigration and Citizenship, the Migration Review Tribunal, the Refugee Review Tribunal, the Administrative Appeals Tribunal and the Federal Magistrates Court.
In the area of employment law, Richard has acted and appeared in matters before various bodies, including Fair Work Australia, the NSW and Australian Industrial Relations Commissions, the NSW Local and District Courts and the Anti-Discrimination Board of NSW. Richard previously lectured at The University of Newcastle in the area of employment law, (Advanced Litigation Practice – Unfair Dismissal).
